Cincinnati Reds

An overview of the 2006 Cincinnati Reds
2005 Description:
The big news for fans of the Cincinnati Reds 2005 was the fact that Ken Griffey Jr. (.301 35 92) was able to play a full season injury free for the first time in more than 5 full seasons. What was so impressive Griffey 2005 performance has been its ability to return to any form, hitting for power and average. Griffey entered the Back of the Year "for his outstanding efforts.
The rest of the Reds' 2005 offensive was provided by Adam Dunn (247, 40 101), the veteran Rich Aurilia for the 2nd base (282 14 68) and outfielder Austin Kearns (240 18 67). Unfortunately, the Reds' starting pitching has not offered many victories in 2005. Tickets Aaron Harang (11 13 3.83), Brandon Claussen (10-11 4.21) and Ramon Ortiz (9 11 5.36) has joined Eric Milton (8 15 6.47) and the strengthening of David Weathers (7-4 3.94 15 stops) to treat most right-handers during the season. Weathers has been collected for the Mets and became a more full-time nailed 15 of 19 opportunities to save. No staff member real Ace Harang emerged in 2005 with major rotation with 11 victories. The Reds ended the season with a final less impressive 73-89 record, finishing 27 games behind the NL Central champion Cardinals San Luis.
Moves of the season:
The Reds pitching acknowledged that his main priority during the offseason so popular trading First Baseman Sean Casey to Pittsburgh for left-handed starter Dave Williams (10-11 4.41). Unfortunately Reds have little to meet their needs pitching. The veteran infielder Rich Aurilia Cincinnati re-signed and also traded for utility man Tony Womack (, 249 in 2005), which was designed to give the team options on the bench in 2006. Reliever lefty Chris Hammond (5-1 3.84) has also signed in the defense of NL Padres, champions of the West.
2006 Analysis:
Expect to see Adam Dunn now to First Base, outfield, leaving the responsibilities of Austin Kearns, Ken Griffey Jr. and Wily Mo Pena. The Reds did not really serious about fighting the playing field season and the new starting pitcher they have acquired (Williams) hardly make a difference for the team in 2006. With Harang leads the group with only 11 wins a lot of work be done before the Reds can expect to compete. Williams was the winner just 10 games in 2005 so that fans should not expect much from him either.
Like many Major League teams, the Reds are based largely on its young people who understand Kearns, Pena, Dunn, shortstop Felipe Lopez and Ryan Freel. The fans were delighted to receive ex Griffey in 2005 and hope that you will collect where he left off when he starts the 2006 season. Dave Weathers is simply not a more significant Although the team has managed to squeeze him 15 saves last season. Hammond was the choice of Nice and should help a bullpen problem – but using the more necessary. Cincinnati Reds fans should expect more of the same period in 2006.
