The time to build an altar and a tent

My husband and I have felt the financial crisis of recent economic problems of our country. I guess most of us in this country for people like Warren Buffet or the latest Powerball winner feel a pinch in the chains of our pocket after the end.

We have been blessed. Now my husband is always busy, I had my book published, our children are healthy, we had cars to drive, and a roof over our heads. However, things can change in a blink of an eye. The exclusion and return of vehicles always possible when money is tight.

I must admit that our financial concerns have put pressure on my mind, so yesterday when I heard the song by Hank Williams Jr. target = "_blank"> Red, White and Pink Slip Blues was on the verge of tears. In the song, sung to hide his truck to a friend, because you'll need when they come to take home there.

While thinking about that song, I also thought that getting angry about losing material goods as a house or a car is not really what to do. Obviously, we have worked hard to provide a home and take a van to travel to where we go, but in reality is the most important in our lives?

If you look at the Word of God will soon discover the answer to this question. When we read the story of Abraham in Genesis soon discover you have always done 2 things when she moved anywhere. First, always has built an altar. Second, it launched a tent. In Genesis 12:8, we see an example of this, "and moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and pitched his tent in Bethel the west and Ai on the east, he built an altar to the LORD, and called the name of the Lord. "Abraham built an altar, and erect tent.

Abraham always built something permanent, an altar to God as a response to God's promise to him. The altar symbolizes our commitment and worship God, our spiritual life. The carp is a symbol of all our possessions and achievements, material and physical life. Abraham always placed the altar outside the store because worship must come before the blessing can be received.

Thinking of the store. A tent has no basis. without permanence. It's ephemeral nature. When setting up your tent, you do not intend to stay forever. This should be the nature of our physical life. However, many of us try to make things permanent base materials of our lives. Focusing on mortgage payments and stressing, car payments instead of focusing God puts in our lives in order. We build our tents and pitch our altars. I'm not saying we should not pay the bills, but we have to focus on worship and return to God first before anything else. Our souls are in line Well, when God has a place in our lives. When things get a place in our lives and looking for trouble, because God is not in place in our lives.

So how can we build an altar area of the first and second of our stores? If we Genesis 35:1-5, we find the formula why. First, we must make our life to God. We dedicate our lives to Him. We must make God first priority in our lives and not the house, car, boat, etc. We need to rekindle the flame of love of God first in our hearts. Then we must reject idols in our lives. I'm not talking about American Idol. I want to talk about anything in our life that has taken the place of God. All what has become our top priority God. All that has stolen our devotion to God. It might actually be an entertainment like American Idol or could be the money, people, or even the department. We also need to purify. We must rid our lives of all vices and sins that prevent us from building the altars of God. Finally, we must remember our vows to God. We must honor God with our vows and tithes.

It is not an easy road, but we must get our priorties in order. We need not worry about what the store in which we live we worry about the construction of the altar of our God. If we do, we find that to put in place. We must strive to build an altar and the tone of our store.
