Second Amendment case – someone else to make the contradiction?
Justice Antonin Scalia discusses at length the fact that important factor behind the second amendment was the concern that the government could use their own militias to disarm the owners personal weapons that could be a threat for the government, as the Stuarts did for Protestants in England in the 1600's and as King George III made in the colonies in the 1760s and 1770s. This means that one of the justifications for the right to bear arms in the Second Amendment is for us, citizens can protect us against government attempt to disarm illegally. If the government has disarmed me with the deposit, I need an anti-tank gun to defend my right to bear arms. However, later in the opinion Scalia suggested in a comment that the opinion should not be read to limit the ability of states to prohibit or regulate the ownership of "unusual weapons" or something like that. But how I can prevent the government to disarm me illegally with only a pistol or a shotgun?
The government will not send you disarm a tank …. And I love people who do this largely on an alleged contradiction in the decision and use of language like "or something to that effect "…. How to ensure a contradiction if you can not even cite the decision?
