Basketball Benefits of Stretching

The body is flexible. It is supposed to be flexible. You should be able to bend and reach something that falls on the floor, or reach that book you need to read the top shelf. But if your in sports such as basketball, being able to do more stretching. Your muscles need to be flexible and at all times. If muscles are tight, it will be much easier to tension and even draw in an aggressive game of basketball. And we all know it takes much longer to heal a torn muscle or strained a break.

So if you play or coach basketball or any sport for that matter, you need a stretching program.

What is the stretch?

Stretching is simply the act of extending the total length of the body and muscles. This activity is to draw or stretching of the body's structure or members.

How do you stretch?

Stretching is fairly easy. As mentioned in the introduction, is involved in normal activities. It can be done by anyone, regardless of age.

However, the degree of stretching and bending is different. As the muscles tighten as a person ages, when you play a sport like basketball muscles shorten its duration to be watertight. The range of motion joint can be minimized when the elasticity in the muscles start exhausted. Bending or flexing becomes more limited. The time to stretch muscles and will soon be on the way to sit on the bench for the match due to injury or even from the station. This is why stretching regularly, as part of a routine is very important.

simple stretching exercises can be done every day. Can be incorporated into the lifestyle and daily activities. It does not require much time.

Stretching exercises can also be done in training. In fact, the section is an essential element of any training or sport. It should do first before anything else. Stretching the body and limbs is a good preparation for more rigorous activity.

Most athletes would do trunk flexion where they stand on the floor, extend your legs and reach the top of your foot with the tip of your hand. In fact, most trainers actually require their athletes to stretch before actually playing.

It is actually an ideal time to stretch. It is best done in 10 minutes. This will give the body enough opportunity to move and flex muscles, therefore, prepare for more complex and difficult movements.

Experts disagree, however, goes far beyond 10 minutes. Stretching the exercise to 30 minutes or more and wear out the body before you start playing. This would not be conducive If you prepare for a game.

What are the benefits of stretching?

1. The increased range of motion
Since it is not continually extends the length of the muscles and tendons also increase. This will help increase the range of motion. Thus limbs and joints can move well before the injury can occur.

2. Increased capacity to perform skills
When you have a wide range of movements, the more you can do more things. For example, you can jump high without feeling any pain when you land back on the floor. Plyometrics is based on this fact. Learning to stretch at this point from the beginning will have a more active life longer.

3. Injury Prevention
You can prevent injuries in the joints, tendons and muscles by stretching. When muscles and tendons are flexed, are considered in good condition. This will help quicker recovery and less pain. The muscles of the body is able to take more exhausting and rigorous movements with less likelihood of injury.

4. Reduce muscle tension
If the muscles are given their regular exercises and stretching, is less likely to contract. This will definitely relieve pain or muscle problems.

5. Improve Energy
Being able to move more will also give you more energy. Stretch to improve their knowledge, like knowing you have a body that is able to do many things. As such, you will be more advanced to move rather than reach temper in a corner.

6. Lowers cholesterol
The research also shows that doing prolonged stretching exercises, like yoga, will help reduce cholesterol in the body. Of course, this must be done to achieve a healthy diet. What could prevent and even reverse the hardening of the arteries, allowing you prevent coronary heart disease.

If you incorporate stretching into their daily practice before basketball, benefits, business as stated, will invaluable. Not require much. After all, your fitness is to do what it takes to keep the body healthy.
